If I’m being honest…

(And if you know me, I definitely am), the guide to self publishing I just shared is a little embarassing. But only so I can help future authors avoid the mistakes I did! I hope that if you find it helpful, you’ll share it with your writer friends. And if you disagree with something I shared, comment below! I love to hear alternate perspectives about publishing.

A tiny excerpt:

Deciding to self publish

All of the above — writing, editing, Kindle Vella, querying — ended up representing less than 50% of my total effort on the book. The majority of my effort started when I decided to self publish — finding the right platform(s), formatting, building a social media presence, trying to get media mentions, podcasts, etc. A lot of self published (aka indie) authors hire someone to help with some of this. I’m frugal, and a bit of a control freak, so I did (almost) everything myself.
